ON MY RADAR | April 2016
9:12 PMI have a lot of blogging planned for April. I also have work, TV shows to watch (mainly Fixer Upper - I have downloaded all of the episodes because my life is a mess), and watercolors to paint with. April is also Camp NaNoWriMo (more to come on that tomorrow), which, let's be honest, I'm not entirely prepared for. Of course, reading will be happening somewhere in the middle of all of that.
New Releases
- Fellside by M.R. Carey I absolutely adored Carey's other novel, The Girl With All the Gifts, and while the synopsis of this one doesn't grab my attention quite as much, I'm still jumping to read it. If the writing and intensity are the same as in Gifts, I'm sure to love it.
- The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh I will admit that I am not as excited for this sequel as I was previously. After reading The Moth and the Flame, however, I am ready to get back into this lush world that Ahdieh is sharing with us.
Popsugar Challenge
- Legend by Marie Lu I have had my eyes on this book and series for a very long time. I love Lu's new series, The Young Elites, and I'm sure that I will enjoy this one as well. I am reading this for the prompt "a romance set in the future." And, yes, I know this isn't strictly romance but I just don't do romance. I also know that this challenge is supposed to stretch your reading experience but, guys, I really can't do a straight-up romance right now. This will work.
- Wool (Omnibus) by Hugh Howey It appears that people either love or hate this book. I have had this omnibus on my shelf for a while and it's about time that I pick it up. I will be reading this for the "science fiction" prompt.
On My Shelf
- A Wrinkle in Time: The Graphic Novel by Madeleine L'Engle and Hope Larson Serving double duty as both an On My Shelf pick and a Popsugar pick (for the "graphic novel" prompt, naturally), I absolutely had to pick this up during one of Bookoutlet's huge sales last year. From what I have seen during my flip-throughts, the art looks really fun and the story, of course, is a classic.
- The Dark Rose by Erin Kelly I love a good thriller and I really enjoyed the previous books I have read by Kelly, The Poison Tree and The Burning Air. We will see what this one brings to the table.
What books do you guys have planned for April? What new releases are you looking forward to?
